Prominent person in European food histry is Markus Gavius Apicius. Markus was a Roman epicure who lived in the first century during the reigns Ausustus and Tinerius (30B.C. - 37A.D.) He run a cooking school, wrote a cookbook and was famous for the discovery of the culinary delight, foie gras.
